The Role:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
- Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload
- Work up cases fully with support from experienced colleagues
- Develop individual clinical interests
- Contribute to student mentoring and veterinary education
- Become involved in rehabilitation, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy or laser therapy
- Support wildlife rehabilitation projects if of interest
- Help shape the development of the practice’s newer facilities
The role would suit an experienced Vet, although new and recent graduates will also be considered.
The Practice:
Our client is a long-established independent practice with three sites and a settled team of vets, RVNs, nurses and support staff.
The main practice provides a broad range of first-opinion services, with separate dog and cat wards, dedicated operating theatres, dental facilities, dental X-ray, ultrasound and an in-house laboratory.
The newest site also provides opportunities around rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture and laser therapy, with scope for the successful candidate to help develop these services.
The practice also works with a local animal rescue centre, providing opportunities to become involved in wildlife rehabilitation and charity cases.
What they're looking for:
- Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine passion for clinical care
- Experienced Vet preferred, although new and recent graduates considered
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Someone keen to develop their own clinical interests
- A Vet who enjoys working up cases and managing varied caseloads
- Someone who values independent practice and clinical autonomy
Working Pattern:
- 3 or 4 days per week
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 9am–12pm
- One late evening per week
- Weekday day off
- Flexible days and hours considered
- No out-of-hours
Total Rewards:
- £38,000–£65,000 salary, dependent on experience
- 5 weeks’ holiday + Bank Holidays
- £1,750 CPD budget
- 1 week CPD leave or 5 additional days’ holiday
- RCVS and VDS membership
- No out-of-hours requirement
