Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Northern Territory

Does the sound of being able to practice top level veterinary care whilst living in the relaxed tropical Northern Territory sound appealing to you?

Would a workday that enables you to work up your cases with all the latest diagnostic tools followed by days off spent camping, fishing or exploring the pristine swimming holes in the nearby National Parks fit with your lifestyle?

Our client is a rapidly growing enterprise and their Team is looking forward to welcoming a new team member to join them on their journey.

This position is open to all applicants including New Grads as well as experienced veterinarians.

Some of the aspects that make this role enticing include:

  • A newly built, state- of-the-art Equine surgical facility in addition to a purpose-built Small Animal clinic.
  • They support a truly diverse patient base with small animals (70%), equine work (30%) as well as the odd goat, cow, crocodile, wallaby or bird to spice up the day
  • They offer a perfect environment for vets wanting to expand or hone their surgical skills as TPLO’s, fracture repairs, laparoscopic and complex soft tissue cases are all carried out in clinic. On-going CPD is encouraged and supported as well as the hands-on training.
  • Equine work ranges from ponies to racehorses and also includes working as the official race-day vets at the Darwin Turf Club. They regularly host an equine surgical specialist to treat complex cases.
  • A wide range of diagnostic, pathology, imaging, lapro/gasto & arthroscopic  equipment as well as our orthopedic facilities , our client is currently really excited about the CT scanner they are installing in March 2024 as this will be the only veterinary CT in the  Northern Territory!
  • This practice is a client / patient-oriented clinic.  They pride themselves on a strong vet – client relationship, and half hour consults are available as needed.
  • For those with an adventurous spirit, they aim to expand their role in the more remote areas of the NT, and the Practice-owned Cessna a T210M airplane could be your new mode of transport to work!

What’s on offer:

  • The salary will be above the award (Commensurate with experience) and you will receive additional remuneration for any after-hours / call ins
  • The roster is based in a rotating 4 day, 38 hour working week (rostered  ½ hour lunch breaks)
