2x - Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse roles
SE - London
£32,000

Our Clients based in South East London are in search of a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse. Since its inception in 2000, this RCVS-accredited facility has been exclusively committed to small animal care, catering to dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. With state-of-the-art amenities, including onsite hospitalisation and extensive surgical and medical capabilities, the practice collaborates seamlessly with the Out of Hours (OOH) Vets Now Thamesmead, upholding high standards of care.

The RVN will assume a central role within the team, collaborating closely with surgeons, fellow nurses, and dedicated reception support staff. Reporting to the Head Nurse, Practice Managers, and Vets, the nurse will contribute significantly to the medical and surgical care of animals while prioritising exemplary client care.

Responsibilities include crucial surgical and medical nursing support – monitoring anaesthesia, administering medications, and overseeing diagnostic imaging. Additionally, the nurse will provide superior care to hospitalised patients, manage admissions and discharges, actively participate in consultations, and dispense prescribed animal medications. Maintaining hygiene standards, equipment sterilisation, and engaging in general housekeeping are integral facets of this multifaceted position.

Beyond clinical duties, the nurse will actively participate in client care, undertaking reception responsibilities such as appointment management, prescription handling, payment processing, and meticulous documentation completion. The nurse will also contribute to nurse clinics, offering invaluable support to pet owners on preventative care and nutritional advice.

Structured within a dynamic organisational framework, the Registered Veterinary Nurse reports to the Practice Managers and Head Nurse. The practice values an energetic and enthusiastic approach, emphasizing outstanding communication skills, quick decision-making abilities. Attributes such as flexibility, a willingness to work unsocial hours, and commitment to continuous professional development through relevant courses are highly prized.

28-day holiday entitlement inclusive of bank and public holidays. The initial six months serve as a probationary period, during which the practice assesses the nurse's suitability for the fixed-term position. Professionalism is paramount, evidenced by the practice's policy of seeking references from previous employers before extending any employment offers.

If you are wanting more details on this position, please feel free to touch base as I would be keen speak more about our clients who are currently on the lookout for a new RVN.
