Production Animal Veterinarian


Our client is a dynamic Veterinary company, providing services and products in the Manawatu, Taumarunui and Tararua areas for companion animals, equine, and production animals.

There is an exciting opportunity for a sheep, beef and deer vet who has the drive to develop PA work within the area. Flexible position, either full or part-time with the opportunity to move into a senior role. You will be based out of their Taumarunui clinic, which services the King Country and Ruapehu areas and they have the best mix of sheep & beef, deer, dairy and companion animal work you will find anywhere.

They do plenty of ambulatory calls to sheep and beef clients around our hill country, as well as planned animal health services and client education.

Our client actively encourages our veterinarians to learn and progress, and there is scope here to develop your skills in whatever your area of interest.

The afterhours roster is one night per week. Weekends are shared with the neighbouring practice in the community; giving approximately a 1:6 to 1:8 weekend roster.

Taumarunui is situated only 45 minutes from Whakapapa ski field - one of NZ's largest ski areas, and the Tongariro National Park – a World Heritage Area which boasts one of the best one-day treks in New Zealand, the Tongariro Crossing. Other activities in the surrounding area include mountain biking the 42 Traverse, kayaking or canoeing the Whanganui River, trout fishing in nearby Tūrangi, or water-skiing, kayaking and sailing on the Great Lake Taupo.
