PERMANENT experienced vets looking for career progression!

Permanent Positions

Are you an experienced veterinarian with an adventurous side who is starting to get itchy feet? Maybe you have a young family and want to relocate to a rural community with great schools. Do you love hiking? Skiing? Farmers Markets? Maybe you have a young family and want to relocate to a rural community with great schools. Southland has it all and more these days! This businesses vet group is part of an industry leading animal health provider with clinics in New Zealand and Australia. With walks, shops, restaurants, golf, fishing, and areas of outstanding natural beauty on your doorstep. Did we mention skiing? This can be a role built around lifestyle.

Our client has two veterinary clinics looking to increase their workforce, specifically in the Large Animal space however they are open to mixed positions. Their teams are proud to serve their communities, get amongst the locals and enjoy a great work life balance while still maintaining that crucial family feel.

They provide an extensive range of veterinary services to dairy clients, as well as other production animals, working dogs and companion animals. A culture of 'team first,' where everyone pulls together to get the job done right and relaxes when it’s time is key here. They are a dedicated team with a real focus on well-being who want their best for patients, teammates and the practice.

Due to growth, they require experienced vets (4+ years), but they will consider less experience if it is the right person with the right values and aligned career or development intentions. You will further develop as a veterinarian and gain experience by working on your own cases and having key clients and will work with plenty of mentoring from other highly experienced veterinarians. Over time, developing in the management space and learning all about the behind-the-scenes parts of a veterinarian business is also an option if that is what interests you.

Salary, benefits, and hours: $110k+ per annum, depending on experience. CPD is actively encouraged and we also make a contribution to wellbeing activities (some people have bought ski passes with their portion, others join the gym or do a photography course!). You will be working 42.5 hours per week with a sensible after hours roster in place. A relocation allowance is provided, veterinary registration paid and staff discounts applied for companion animals. A work vehicle, laptop and phone are provided, plus six weeks of accommodation provided on arrival (if relocating). Plus, there is plenty of 'food for good,' when on the go; fruit, nibbles, and snacks to keep you going.

Choosing a new practice is a big decision. If want a place where you can apply your skills, feel valued and can learn and grow as part of a team- this is the job for you.
