Location:

The Hospital 

This practice is an Equine & Small Animal Referral & Emergency Services Hospital. They're a privately owned veterinary facility that will never sell to corporate and offers comprehensive veterinary care for both equine and small animal patients. With a focus on excellence in patient care, they are not production focused. They are committed to providing high-quality emergency veterinary services and offering advanced treatments and surgical options.

Their hospital is 60,000 sq ft and they are expanding to two more phases.

This practice is the midst of a 3-month orientation currently which has included key speakers on Emotional Intelligence, Positive Coaching, Emotional Resilience, Disney Model of Client Services and more. Their leaders in the next month will be engaged in leadership training and they plan to have training for you too. As a DVM you are a critical part of the culture, and they want to invest in your development.

Shifts:

12 shifts per month. 3 shifts per week. 2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights. As they build their team they will vote on the schedule that works best for everyone.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to CMO, work with a team of 8 to 10 DVMs. Strong RVT & ACA Support.
  • Collaborate closely with Board Certified Critical Care Specialists, Anesthesiologists, and Referral Specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in surgical procedures and receive training from our Board-Certified Surgeons.
  • Deliver exceptional emergency veterinary care, including diagnosis, treatment, and surgical interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including surgery, anesthesia, neurologists, internal medicine, critical care, dermatology, ophthalmology, and rehabilitation to develop and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, personal accountability, collaboration and compassion for their patients and their staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario, Canada.
  • Experience working in a multi-doctor practice or emergency veterinary hospital is highly desirable.
  • Surgical skills and a willingness to train under Board Certified Surgeons.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and client service.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including day, night, and swing shifts.
